RFF volunteers worked in cooperation with
ODFW and the U.S. Corps of Army
Engineers to place five new “FLY ANGLING
ONLY” signs around the Holy Water. The
signs were provided by Spearco Graphics and
Chick Parsons and ODFW supplied the posts
and hardware. The volunteers spent the morning

Phil Hager volunteered his labor to construct five fish
traps using funds donated by RFF for their construction.
Now we need volunteers to get fish counts from the
traps after they are placed in streams. If you can help,
even a hour or two a week, contact Chuck Fustish
who will try to set you up with a monitoring station
near where you live, if possible.

Fish are taking refuge in Lazy Creek in Bear
Creek Park, Medford. ODFW has an upstream
migration hoop trap at the upstream barrier that
prevents passage. Volunteers are taking fish
counts & then returning the fish to Bear Creek
(upstream bridge work requires returning the
fish to Bear Creek).

catch some, but found them extremely elusive
even after a total of 21 hours of fishing time.
The area fished was the West arm of the lake.

using artificial flies...a tough job, but someone
had to do it. The worst part was the weather,
which was cold & windy!

Roadside Cleanup Chairman Lee Wedberg
reports that the weather was cool, sunny and
dry and that volunteers met at the Bridge Hole
at 9:30 a.m. & that the last team had finished
by 10:45 a.m. Due to a schedule mix up, two
volunteers (Gene & Marilyn Wright) were there
for cleanup work on March 31. They filled three
bags with litter, concentrating on the boat ramps.
