Regarding monitoring fish traps, Chuck Fustish reports that recent cold weather has slowed juvenile fish migration in the small streams. Researchers from mountain states have proven that rainbow trout become inactive in cold weather (a long-held theory, but now proven). Also, in-stream food supplies are believed to be at their lowest this time of year. According to Chuck, fish traps are scheduled to be placed in streams on February 5th. Those who volunteered to monitor the fish traps will be contacted soon and given their monitoring schedule. | -------------------- | |

Roadside litter cleanup – RFF Adopt-A-Hwy project – was accomplished along Takelma Drive from Hwy 62 to the end of the pavement. It turned out to be a two-phase event. For the Feb 9th event, nine volunteers took part in the cleanup work. Our sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to everyone who participated in this unpleasant but worthwhile event. |
